This screen porch add-on in New Bern's historic district was commissioned by the owners of this house so they could enjoy the view of their yard and the North Carolina weather in a cozy and controlled space. The plans were drawn and submitted to New Bern's Historic Preservation Commission, and they were subsequently approved for their authentic appearance and fluid transition into the original structure. The interior was furnished to match the owners' fun tastes with furniture that suits the space. This add-on turned out to be an exemplary project, perfectly fitting into the historic district's atmosphere despite using more modern techniques, all while being decorated in the way the clients wanted.
